A true tech tale fueled by Matt Johnson's genius? Why yes, I do think I'll indulge on this one.
I had a BlackBerry device once upon a time. Yes, I'm that old. I had it for ~12 months prior to being essentially gifted an iPhone by a good friend.
BlackBerry emerged from the ashes of the promised PDA. It was internet connected, which I had been surfing for a solid decade since 56k dial-up to pirate music, shows, movies, and more. The promise of a portable internet was strong. But I cannot understate the slowness of the UI as a whole alongside the terrible UX that was input. It was better than nothing, but not by much.
For a device who was synonymous with security, none of that seemed to matter as they tumbled into oblivion during the smartphone explosion. I don't know why and this happened but I'm excited to find out with this cast. And now that I'm acquainted with the genius of director and actor Matt Johnson via Nirvanna the Band the Show, I'm even more excited than when I first heard about this movie.
