Wealth and taxes are an inescapable aspect of all this for me. Both life and the show, I suppose. That's the lens I view this story that grandly encompasses virtually all of modern civilization.
Clarkson's camera crew is also incredible. Undoubtedly veterans from decades of working together in unscripted shows, the shots they have are wonderful each and every season. The sound, the editing, the whole production crew is absolutely top notch.
Season 1
Getting things off the ground. What equipment does what, who helps where and how, and everything in between. It's an excellent start with plenty of content.
Season 2
Covering the bureaucracy of a farm with grand plans to expand and cater to an audience enraptured by Jeremy and his undertakings. Despite my legal leanings, not my favorite because of frustrations and an unsatisfying arc (because stakes felt low).
Season 3
This is where we really get the layers of the onion torn off. A third trip around the sun with plans taking shape and deeper depths of what it means to farm the land alongside livestock. Some gut-wrenching moments that they do not let you turn away from. Powerful stuff and builds nicely towards the next two excellent seasons.
Season 4
Showing the cooperative come together and the state of pub ownership was just as enlightening as getting things going initially at the farm. And the farming TikTok influencer was a great addition as the farm and the help continue their evolution.
Season 5
Technology alongside more of the same re: drought, livestock, and new product experimentation (snails). Compounded by human frailty re: Jeremy starting and ending season in the hospital.
