Tom Ford Bois Pacifique EDP Spray
Tom Ford
$120 / bottle
This is my latest and greatest cologne. Well, perhaps not greatest. But it will undoubtedly be getting use. In essence, this joins the rotation along with Paco Rabanne Men's Million Gold Intense EDP and Paco Rabanne Men's Phantom Parfum. Both the Pacifique and the Million Gold last to and through bedtime (although the smell morphs, whereas the wonderfully unique Phantom fades quickly).
The goal of this Pacifique scent was something very woodsy. It was the Autumnal Equinox and I got swept up in the glories of the weather changing. Those sorts of things have a real impact on you, you know. And it resulted in me purchasing this to acquiesce to life's changes.
Well, mission accomplished with this long-lasting, traditional dapper gentleman scent to it. But it also has an energized modern world with turmeric and especially the akigalawood which brings and boosts all the woodsy-ness going on here.
And I don't know yet what to attribute this to, but the sprayer/diffuser is insanely good and easily the best of the bunch of colognes I've used. It gives a darn good, fine and powerful spray.
Good stuff and I recommend it.
And now my disclaimer re: going down the tool rabbit hole. Maybe you're already deep down there and don't need it. But for me this approach to using this hygiene / artful expression tool that is cologne was helpful.
If you're looking for a cologne, do not get this. Get a sampler. Spray one on each day and see where you're at 1 hour, 4 hours, and then 8 hours into it. Everyone's nose is different. Everyone's skin is different. What works for me may not work for you, so see what you like rather than listening to the nose-blind lunatics on Reddit or elsewhere.
Then when you know what you want, buy the big bottle from a Jomashop or other discounter (or dupe shop, whatever) because let's be real here.
