Zebra pens have the fine-point writing that I enjoy. It allows you to be precise when annotating in the margin of your notes, a book, or whatever it is I'm scribbling on. That's one of my major conditions of satisfaction for a pen -- I don't want a sloppy, inky, bloated mess where space is gobbled up and the excess ink ends up on your hands and arms and clothing. Fine point people are the finest around.

Outside of the fine point and cheap refills, the weight and texture of the pen is important. This feels good in hand without being ostentatious. It grips nicely with the textured grip (vs. it's inferior but still good F-402 sibling where the rubber gets grimy over time (also see: Logitech MX Master 3 thoughts). And I'm reluctant to lend it out due to grubby-mitted people; gimme a non-rubber-gripped F-301 if I'm going downstream or a X-701 if I'm doing some Rite in the Rain uncertain conditions kinda work; and then of course the kingly T3-Mini for everday carry with a notebook).

Anyhow, there are many good pens out in the world but Zebra F-701 is ol' reliable with easy refills, low cost barrels, and a perfect feel in hand and on paper.
