The Electric City's love of trains has me enamored for their quiet, strange town with a nifty concert venue tucked away up a mountainside.

If you're a fan of trains (or free) then Steamtown National Historic Site is a great visit. It's an active roundhouse and the city still has trains roaring through, so you get some up-close insights from well curated exhibits on top of seeing the real deal with the trains while you're in town. And one of my favorite hoodies is from there, alongside a great glow in the dark train shirt.

The Pavilion at Montage Mountain, which sounds like something from a Teen Disney movie, may be a similar draw for you to see your preferred performers (mine was Mastodon x Coheed and Cambria). The venue’s ingress and egress is worse than most venues (i.e. absolutely no way to walk up and one-lane mixed with locals making it an absolute cluser. But the venue itself is quite nice, a la a lesser Merriweather Post Pavillion otudoor amphiteather.
