Baltimore, MD has had a negative reputation for a fair bit. But I believe it’s been unfairly maligned in general perception (but also economically by it’s own leaders and others are large).
The Wire is a tremendous show and does a phenomenal job digging into the corruption and hooliganism of the city. But these are facets seen everywhere in all cities and that story was from a particular place in time about those harrowing people.
Baltimore, MD is one of the most affordable cities with plenty of arts and entertainment to rival most any other East Coast city. Don’t be dissuaded from visiting and seeing a beautiful city that easily connects up and down the east coast corridor (e.g. Boston, NYC, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Richmond, and a whole bunch more).
